“Few industries have a greater impact on neighborhoods, residents, workers' rights and environment than the waste and recycling industry...” - Don’t Waste LA Coalition

One of the worst offending companies is American Reclamation. A company that represents precisely what is wrong with the industry - abuse, neglect and indifference. It is emblematic of the problems in the industry throughout the country - with dozens of health and safety violations that have resulted in official investigations. Even so, these companies are on the brink to secure major contracts.

Corporate-business cartels come in many forms, the worst being quasi-governmental services performed by ensconced, entitled bureaucratic, fascist, elitest, bigoted and ultimately bully mobsters….corporate fascism’s core actors. Governmental regulators are just a fantasy—an oxymoron, when government can’t even begin to relguate or get itself straight.

This is pathetic. First, we export all of our quality jobs overseas or down to Mexico, then we import the cheapest, most dangerous labor back into the U.S. Business in this country has become the modern equivalent of the British empire of old, though they’re taking disregard of human rights to dangerous new heights.

Thank God we have internet. As a people, we are all learning to make choices. We have to see this to make a choice. Now I can make a choice to know who my own recyclers are. We have to see this or it goes unheard. Next I will watch “Waste Land.” Thank you.

Where are the outcries from people who have spent decades demanding municipal recycling programs? Anyone from any of the various “action alliances”, etc. care to stand up for these workers rights, or get their hands dirty themselves? Yes, it was fun waving the ecology flag, but now there’s some real work to be done.

If workers comp laws have been gutted so badly that there is no incentive to have better management than this, all workers are in danger.

Companies that threat human beings like animals are not recycling garbage; those companies ARE garbage.
