Today President Obama met with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC). These members are expected to be essential throughout the debate on immigration as Jordan Fabian at ABCNews-Univision is reporting.

The meeting is in prep for a major immigration announcement President Obama will deliver next Tuesday in Las Vegas. Jordan notes,

The president's trip to Las Vegas is designed 'to redouble the administration's efforts to work with Congress to fix the broken immigration system this year,' the White House said.

Both parties have shown an effort to work on immigration reform ever since November's election where the Latino vote resulted with high record numbers. The debate over a pathway to citizenship is expected to continue, yet with Obama's plan, 11 million immigrants without criminal history will be qualified to apply for a pathway to citizenship.

Amongst others who are working on a immigration reform bill are the bipartisan group of eight senators and Sen. Marco Rubio who has publicly announced his immigration proposal.
