Under many of the proposed Voter ID laws around the country many would struggle pay for and acquire voter IDs. That’s a poll tax.

The New York Times has an report today on the struggle American children encounter when their parents are deported. Last Friday Obama announced that his administration is providing "administrative relief" for DREAM eligible youth. But what about parents? This new report suggest that out immigrant rights movement is gaining momentum thanks to the tireless work of DREAMERS, but we've still got a lot of work to do!

The movement to claim domestic worker rights is global! Many of the domestic workers of the world are immigrants, naturally the movement to protect domestic wokers' rights moves as fast as it's proponents, and sometimes even faster. East LA filmmaker Josefina Lopez, playwright/director for 'Real Women Have Curves' has embarked on a new film based on her play 'Detained in the Desert'. The story will focus on people on the opposite side of the immigration debate, one is a right-wing, anti-immigrant radio talk show host and the other is a Mexican-American woman growing up on the border.

We've been critical of Marco Rubio's attempt at a youth immigration bill alternative to the DREAM Act, as we are in any case. Particularly, we've been critical of the source of his ideas, citing an article that links Marco Rubio's legislation to that of the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS). Well now, FAIR the sister organization of CIS has come out against the bill. Will CIS follow? More importantly is Marco Rubio feeling the pressure and criticism and garnering the political will to write the legislation bright, undocumented youth deserve?

It seems that the Supreme Court is willing to leave at least of SB 1070's anti-immigrants laws in tact. If this is the case, will Latino voters come out in droves come November elections? In the elections following the passage of SB 1070 voters did oust Russel Pearce, the legislator who introduced the bill. Will we see something similar, or are Latinos, and voters of color too disillusioned by electoral politics?

Romney's strategy for the latino vote really is quiet offensive. He's made sure to rack up a star line up of anti-immigrants including Jan Brewer, Russel Pearce, Kris Kobach, and Pete Wilson. Yet, at the same time he tells Latino's he's got their best interest in mind. He reminds immigrants that Obama hasn't done much to move on immigration. Romney goes as far as touting his father's Mexican birth. It's all is a insult to intelligence. Does he really think Latino voters are that easy to sway?
