Arpaio To Appeal Racial Profiling Ruling

Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who has served Maricopa County, Ariz., for years, has said he would appeal the ruling of the federal court that found his agency guilty of racially profiling Latinos.
“One hundred of my deputies were authorized and trained by the federal government [U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement] to enforce federal immigration law,” Arpaio said in a recorded statement Tuesday, according to CBS5 in Phoenix. “Now, a federal court has ruled that federal training was unconstitutional, and it led to racial profiling. We will appeal this ruling.”
