Fear rules ignorant minds.

How can we be a strong country, if we base our values on fear and hatred?

Immigrants are as human and as varied as the rest of us, are harder working than many of us, and deserve all the rights we have.

Possibly some of them are as racist and bigoted as those who hate them, although I doubt it.

Instead of speaking in “generalities”, it’s important to see and app-reciate the accomplishments and talents of individuals!

It is time for this charade to end. Quit using poor defenseless people as pawns and pass reasonable reforms. The truth is many have looked away from the illegal immigration for decades when they needed cheap labor. Now they want to demonize and persecute. End the black market for labor.

Flagrantly bigoted and anti-American!

This hateful, fear-mongering ugliness should not be what America is about. We mustn’t allow this kind of garbage to represent what this country stands for.

There should be a path way to citizenship for those that are here.

How much of this problem was created by NAFTA and other criminal treaties?

I truly cannot understand the mentality of those who believe that young people who have been brought up as Americans and who were brought here as very young and innocent children, who have excelled in our schools, who have volunteered for military service and defended this country, who have worked everyday in our hospitals and as first responders, and who have taken on many other jobs with integrity, that all these people are not worthy of having a path to citizenship. If it had not been for the wonderful diversity brought to this country by past immigrants, America would not have become a great country and a “Beacon of Light” to the rest of the world. It seems that what is so conveniently forgotten in this discussion by those in the very vocal oppositon, is the fact that we are all immigrants, with the exception of the the original Americans, the Native Americans. And quite frankly I am so very tired of the racist cruel comments that the worst in our society continue to spew. God, we should be better than this!

It is time we put basic immigrant, human rights back in the forefront of our national values and priorities. After all, this is and always has been a nation of immigrants! Shame on us for blaming all of our real or imagined problems on current immigrants.
