    I work with Latino students, both American-born and foreign-born, and the kinds of comments these legislators have made are utterly outrageous. EVERY group of people has its shining stars and its underachievers, and that is absolutely NO EXCUSE for making negligently racist and inflammatory remarks! Frankly, without some sort of solid research to back up such words, these are the kinds of lies that make our nation’s citizens trust politicians less and less every year.
