Prisons belong to society as part of the commons. Moreover, private prisons have a horrible record of substandard treatment and abuse of their charges. Shame on you Wendy, I thought you were a progressive. ICE detentions are bad enough, but made much worse through private enterprises, who exist, after all, to make money, in this case, off people’s misery. Basta!

The Obama Administration announced a change in the priorities for detentions and deportations, to focus on real national security concerns, not on separating parents from their children or deporting DREAMers who are only seeking a better future.
