There is no place in America for privately operated prisons. That concept is an anathema to democracy and civil rights (Just look at Pennsylvania’s fiasco). I expect Republicans with their privatize at all costs to support this; I do not expect Democrats to do so and I am deeply disappointed to hear this your position, especially as the leader of the party. Every time I hear a story like this, it makes me less interested in voting for Democrats (not more likely to vote for Republicans, even though that may be the outcome). At least with Republicans you get what you vote for.
