Why is FL Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz siding with the Corrections Corporation of America and not her constituents in Southwest Ranches? 98% of her constituents DO NOT want a new for-profit immigrant detention center!

We call on Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-20) to WITHDRAW her current endorsements for CCA’s project.

The Obama Administration announced a change in the priorities for detentions and deportations, to focus on real national security concerns, not on separating parents from their children or deporting DREAMers who are only seeking a better future.

It is time for ICE to stop the immigrant money making machine and tell CCA to GO AWAY from Southwest Ranches.

    Any politician who claims to be anything but a right wing sell-out and supports private prisons in any capacity is either delusional or as I suspect of you, getting a lot of money from these CORPORATIONS. I am really disapointed and dissolutioned by your rise to prominance and total sell out to your supporters.     Private prisons are a categorically bad idea. Corporatizing prisons creates a perverse incentive for incarceration and is harmful to our country.

    Do away with the camps-I have students who are greatly affected by this horrible process. Families are being ripped apart by corporate greed. I know first hand that the great majority of immigrants do not pose a threat to us. Detention camps are a blight on our nation and an injury to families and communities. The only winners are the corporate owners of this business.
