Debbie: Say No To CCA!

Why is FL Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz siding with the Corrections Corporation of America and not her constituents in Southwest Ranches? 98% of her constituents DO NOT want a new for-profit immigrant detention center!

IMMIGRANTS ARE NOT FOR SALE

We call on Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-20) to WITHDRAW her current endorsements for CCA’s project.

The Obama Administration announced a change in the priorities for detentions and deportations, to focus on real national security concerns, not on separating parents from their children or deporting DREAMers who are only seeking a better future.

It is time for ICE to stop the immigrant money making machine and tell CCA to GO AWAY from Southwest Ranches.

Enough with the prison industry. Spend the money on helping people, not locking up minor drug offenders.

Come on, Debbie: get your ethics and your congruence GOING!

I hate it when men sell out to big money; when women do it, it makes me so so sad, and disappointed, and yes, a bit ashamed of you.

I have worked in child welfare and have seen 1st. hand the negative impacts of parental deportation. Children should not be left to strangers because their parent is undocumented. What’s just as bad is that often the US foster care system will not return the child to the home country and to the arms of their loving parent because the parents home does not meet the “quality” standards of a US home. This to me is tantamount to child abduction by governmental authorities.

Isn’t it time to really evaluate who is taking up all the existing space and deal with that first. 22 million Americans are in prison for simple possession of marijauna while the prison industry continues to rake in billions each year! End the war on drugs and the war on immigrants!
