Hi. I know I qualify for DACA. I meet all the requirements. But what has kept me from applying is all the questions that come to mind when choosing the right lawyer. I have met with a few lawyers and they have told me different things. I never imagined it’d be this difficult to choose a lawyer. But I’d rather take the time to investigate than to be sorry later.

What I’d like to know is how can I tell if a lawyer is the right one for my DACA case? I do not want to pay the big bucks and get denied for whatever reason or if I hire a lawyer who’s more affordable and something like that happens. There are affordable lawyers but some ask too many questions that make me uncomfortable. Like asking information about family members that live in the US. Why should I include them, am I not the one thats applying for DACA and not my family?

How does a lawyer’s education influence the way they treat DA cases? Should I care about what school they went to? Should I find a lawyer who is 100% dedicated to immigration cases or one who is dedicated 33% for DACA? Iv also learned that lawyers from other states are members of state bar of california but I’m not sure if this is positive.

I’m in great need of help in finding the right lawyer. Thanks for your time!

Hi, I have everything that is required except proof that I was living in the US in 2011-2012. I was able to gather Facebook conversations from 2011 and craigslist ads that I posted looking for a job dating from January to June 20, 2012. I also had a letter notarized stating that my friend has known me since June 2011

If I am currently in the process of receiving my residency through a relative, should I still apply for DACA in the meantime? I have been in the process for 12 years now.

About the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, I need to show proof that I was residing in the US during june 15th 2012 and at the time of application submission, would it be okay to show car insurance and/or credit card bills? Only thing I’m worried about is they will know that I have been driving and legally I shouldn’t be because I don’t have a drivers license. Also I have taken classes earlier in the spring semester that wouldn’t be valid though to prove I was here on june 15th right? because spring semester ends in late may or early june

where do i get biometrics at in denver, CO?

Since to the best of my knowledge i have not been arrested, should i go to department of justice and ask for my history?

    should i include fingerprints?

Does felony mean getting deported as a kid?

If i’m in college do i say currently in school or just say i’m a high school graduate?

Who is the correct person to translate documents?

    THANK YOU

according to USCIS, under its guidelines, "For the purposes of this process, a significant misdemeanor is a misdemeanor as defined by federal law (specifically, one for which the maximum term of imprisonment authorized is one year or less but greater than five days). Now my question is, if i have a misdemeanor for CA PC 484, which i wasn’t imprisoned nor detained, but have been booked, can i still apply? even if this was over 3 years ago, and its being expunged?

A friend has all the requisites to apply for DACA. He got married last year with an american citizen. He never had any problem with the police. Since he came without visa, he would have been deported if he would have tried to fix his status through his wife. if he is granted Deferred Action, can he apply for a regularization of status through his wife without being deported?

Okay, thank you, I won’t have to submit an I-94 in my case then. My final question is just a checklist to make sure everything I have everything.

    -Forms I-765, I-765WS, I-821D are completed

-Copies of high School transcript from 2005-2009 and high school diploma

-Copy of Elementary School Diploma (June 3, 2005)

-Copy of Matricula Photo I.D., and birth certificate with an official translation stapled in front of it

-Unofficial college transcript from Fall 2009 to Present

-Throwing in, probably unnecessary, a copy of state testing results from second grade (March 1999) and Vaccination information from 5th grade (January 15, 2002)

-I am waiting for an academic adviser to write a letter to specifically state I was present in the US on June 15, 2012 since I did summer school just recently and I have no bills on my name to prove this requirement otherwise.

-Once I have the letter from the adviser, or maybe before, I will get a money order of $465 paid to the name of the US Department of Homeland Security and make a copy for myself before mailing it.

Am I set? Thank you in advance.
