Bill O'Reilly

"If we legalize immigrants who are here they get more on the welfare entitlement train."

Don't let this fear-mongering drive immigration reform!
Neil Cavuto

"Releasing immigrants from detention is dumb."

Don't let this absurdity drive immigration reform!

Don’t let anti-immigrant rhetoric drive the immigration debate. Nativist, racist and fear-mongering hate groups are working hard to drive their narrative on immigration. For years now, anti-immigrant groups have successfully infused their message into the national immigration debate. Influencing local politicians and national figures - with the same talking points: "More punishment", "Militarize the border", "Massive deportations", "More Enforcement." This has resulted in dangerous policies that have led to flagrant violation of human rights.

It is time we put basic immigrant, human rights back in the forefront of our national values and priorities! Let Congress and the President know that to reform immigration they must prioritize "Immigrant rights before enforcement."Add your name and message - make sure your voice is heard!

Maybe they’re afraid that others will do what they did? Force them to live on desolate, barren reservations? Most Americans are not of Native Blood, (Cherokee, Sioux, etc.) Most of us are IMMIGRANTS! Deyoung is a Dutch name, Gilchrist is Scottish, Hughes is Welsh, Powelson is German, Limbaugh is German, Coulter is Scottish, O’Reilly is Irish, Cavuto is most likely Italian (according to the immigration cards). Not one of these individuals have family trees that originated in this country. How would they like to be sent back to their country of origin? Stop with the hate and fear-mongering!

It’s sick how some people forget that these immigrants, these other races—well, they’re human too. Nations have made that mistake time and time again, and their failure to learn from it comes at the expense of millions of human beings. Europeans were the largest and most violent immigrants in history, yet now Native Americans get the short end of the stick (or no stick at all) and are treated like the immigrants of the situation. The word “immigrant” should be stricken from the English language if it gets used as a branding stick against people just like us. I’m tired of my country showing itself off as the king against races aside from white. There’s so much beauty in the country, so many peaceful and loving people, and I’m afraid of their being obscured by others’ hatred.

The law with regards to Mexico must be changed. Mexican relatives of American citizens now wait 40 years for a visa. These are our neighbors, we take everyone else. The laws need to be changed.

As one who has illegal immigrants on both sides of his family tree, I know first hand just how much of this country comes from those whose presence here was not, at least initially, legally sanctioned. The time for immigration reform has long passed; unlike what the National Socialist speaker had to say, it is the very best and brightest of people from other lands who risk everything to come here and start from nothing. Depriving this country of such people is the essence of stupidity.

Besides which: every non-Native American is, at their roots, an immigrant. Period.

…Remember that one time we took away a continent from all its natives?

It seems that those who say these things don’t actually look at history beyond either what they’ve personally experienced or what they want to see.

AMERICA IS A MELTING POT OF PEOPLE!! I can say this, if you are not of Native Blood, (Cherokee, Sioux, etc.) YOU ARE AN IMMIGRANT! Rhetoric that emphasizes punishment, deportation, and militarized borders is – besides insensitive, impractical, and naive – unpatriotic. The United States was built on immigration. The US needs immigration reform so that the emphasis can be shifted from this counterproductive approach to one that recognizes that when we treat our population with respect and dignity and give them an opportunity to succeed, we all benefit. An immigrant that can go to college and become an exceptional and productive member of society is far more beneficial to us than one that lives in the shadows, that doesn’t even report crime for fear of deportation.

The only reason ‘immigration rules’ were adopted, is because some greedy ‘fat cats’ didn’t want to have to ‘share’. To escape persecution people immigrated here…. and would have starved their self-righteous asses to death, if it weren’t for the compassion of natives. Now, no one can look at another’s struggles and say ‘is there anything I can do?…’. Instead it’s ‘No, mine mine mine…’. The most generous people on the planet are the one’s who hardly have a scrap to give…. and they would give it every time, in my experiences!

These anti immigrant idiots drive me insane with their lies. I have some close friends who are wonderful people. They are here to make a better life for their family. They are productive individuals who work every day. Their children are absolutely wonderful kids, who are striving very hard to keep their good grades in school. I consider them more American than alot of American citizens I know. This crap has to stop.
