Neil Cavuto

"Releasing immigrants from detention is dumb."

Don't let this absurdity drive immigration reform!

Don’t let anti-immigrant rhetoric drive the immigration debate. Nativist, racist and fear-mongering hate groups are working hard to drive their narrative on immigration. For years now, anti-immigrant groups have successfully infused their message into the national immigration debate. Influencing local politicians and national figures - with the same talking points: "More punishment", "Militarize the border", "Massive deportations", "More Enforcement." This has resulted in dangerous policies that have led to flagrant violation of human rights.

It is time we put basic immigrant, human rights back in the forefront of our national values and priorities! Let Congress and the President know that to reform immigration they must prioritize "Immigrant rights before enforcement."Add your name and message - make sure your voice is heard!

Lately, I’ve been bombarded by so many misconceptions and generalizations about undocumented immigrants and documented immigrants. This kind of dehumanization should not be tolerated; it is a hindrance to humane policy making. I believe basic immigrant and human rights need to make up the backbone of future immigration discussions.

I’m simply astounded by how much hate, ignorance, and generalization there is in this video. In this sense I have lost faith in humanity. All aspects of reason are thrown out the window. I see so much blatant hate words from individuals like this one, who consider themselves “compassionate” and “God fearing”. When will it sink in that we’re all people, connected to the universe, connected to one another, and connected to nature. Our differences is what makes us great, our differences is what made people come together to try and forge a brighter future. We’re all devine, capable of immense and unconditional compassion. But, sadly many individuals forget about this… my heart weeps.

its impossible to deport every immigrant in the country, all they want is to be able to work legitimately, pay taxes, have a drivers license to get to and from work, and to be able to see their family occassionally without risking getting killed when coming back to the US.. simple as that. they work harder than most us citizens.

This hateful talk about people of other racial ancestry is no part of the America I live in. I don’t accept and I do not support it. I will speak my piece to those (who — unless they are Native American) whom have ancestors who were immigrants, and speak negatively about newly arrived immigrants. Such negativity is hypocrisy.

After almost 3 1/2 years of being separated from my husband, due to immigration issues (no criminal record, we just didn’t get fair treatment in the process), I have come to know first hand that the immigration system as it currently exists is both cruel and ridiculous. It’s not a wonder that people stay invisible and hidden, just to provide for their families. The videos above prove how out of touch people are about immigrants. It reminds me of when I lived in southern Africa, and experienced post-colonialism and the effects of racist policies upon large groups of people. We have to do better!! We have to inform, educate, enlighten about the plight of immigrants in the USA. We need human rights for all, or none of us are truly free.

As far as I’m concerned, the only group of people who can claim they were here first are Indigenous Native American tribes. These racists on video are trying to make their delusional fantasy world a reality. That won’t happen as long as we can raise awareness and mobilize people far and wide through social media outlets and all other possible avenues. The time is now to speak up for ourselves!

I cannot believe that there are so many hate groups that are really against immigration to the point that they don’t even try to understand what the immigrants are going through or the hypocrisy in their statements when they point out immigrants from Easter Asia and/or Central/South America but completely forget or choose to forget about Europe. As a son of an immigrant family, I am pursing my career of being a Spanish teacher and would really like to see others like me accomplish their dreams and pursuit their careers. We NEED an immigration reform NOW! One that will benefit all the students that want to go into a post-secondary school.

Any immigrant who lives with you must be treated as if they were one of your citizens. You must love them as yourself, because you were immigrants in the land of Egypt; I am the Lord your God. Lev 19:34

I’m a second generation United States citizen, with my father being the only member of his family born in the United States. We are ALL immigrants. The fact that I personally knew the people who changed the course of our family history -my grandparents – well, that just makes me luckier than those who forget where they’ve come from.

I am a U.S. born citizen of parents who were once immigrants. Now I am an important contributor at the University of California, Merced as a doctoral student, teaching assistant, researcher, and counselor of undergraduate students. I have also worked for the Veteran Affairs medical center in West LA as a researcher with veterans who were rehabilitating. The purpose of this project was to improve the quality of life of vets. I have also worked for almost a decade with developmentally disabled adults caring and providing the assistance they need. WOULD YOU CALL ME A BOTTOMLESS FEEDER, THROW AWAY PERSON, GANG MEMBER?? I think not. What have you done for others including minority and majority individuals to improve their quality of life???? YOU"RE WRONG WRONG WRONG.
