Marco Rubio Insists DREAM Act has problems
Marco Rubio leads efforts to draft up an alternative, and watered down version of the DREAM Act. In an interview with Juan Williams, Rubio argued that the current DREAM Act is not getting sixty votes because of fundamentally flawed provisions in the current proposal that could encourage illegal "chain migration."

Mexican President in Washington to Discuss War on Drugs
Mexican president Felipe Calderon is in Washington today for a North American heads of state meeting. The discussion between Obama and Calderon is expected to address Mexico's bloody war on drugs and organized crime.
The US has exerted an immense amount influence in this war. Both sides of the war are in one way or another armed with US weapons. On the one side you have the U.S.' Plan Merida which helps fund the Mexican armed forces and on the other side you have lax US weapons laws which make it easy for gun smugglers to buy in the US and export to Mexican cartels.

Obama Proposes More Lenient Repercussions For Green Card Applicants With Over-Stayed Visas
ICE recently reported that it deported around 46 thousand undocumented parents of U.S. born children during the first half of 2011. A considerable chunk of the record breaking deportation numbers of the Obama administration in 2011. As expected, the administration has a received criticism from the Latin@ community. The administration has been quite mindful of such criticisms, especially in this election year, and Obama has recently executively taken step to quell critcisms. i.e. backlogging deporation of undocumented students. In the same vein Obama is now proposing more linient repurcussion for green card applicants with over-stayed visas. That is, less time being barred from the country, and less time away from families, during the application process.

ICE Report: 46K Undocumented Parents Deported in First Half of 2011
46 thousand is just in the first half of the year. If ICE kept that pace throughout the year, that would be close 100 thousand parents. A whole one fourth of the nearly 400 thousands deportations the Obama administration racked up in 2011. That's a lot of parents, and begs that question, "what happens to the children of deportees?"
