"God Made A Farmer" ad-K, We Fixed It!
During the Super Bowl, Dodge Ram had an ad on farmers that was a bit on the Lilly White side. We thought it didn't present a realistic portrayal of the contemporary U.S farming industry.
We put our fix on it.
The Atlantic states, that according to 2007 USDA Census of Agriculture 96 percent of the nation's farms' managers are white, yet the workforce is 70 percent from Mexico.
About 75 percent of cropworkers who are foreign-born, have lived in the states for more than five years. In a survey done by the Department of Labor more than half of farmworkers have lived in the states for more than ten years.

RNC Custodial Workers Paid Below Minimum Wage
It's quite telling that the party who touts job creation does not bother to ensure that the workers who fill those jobs, get paid a minimum wage, not to mention a living wage. What kind of jobs does the GOP have in mind when it says it wants to restore America's greatness?

Federal Courts Blocks Ohio Law Restricting Early Voting
Another victory! Last week we released an image of Doug Preisse, an Ohio County GOP chair who admitted the racial motives behind the cuts in voter hours. It looks like a federal court has sided with voters and struck down the law. Democracy in Ohio will not be suppressed!

Ok, so it was obviously a mistake. Or was it? "Lady doth protest too much methinks." After all both are very well invested in deportations.

Ann Romney: Hispanics have biases that have been there from the Democratic machines
It's looking like Ann Romney is working hard to convince minorities to vote Republican. At the RNC she delivered a speech on "love" and her husband, targeted at women. She now seems to be shifting focus to Latinos.

John Boehner: Latinos, Blacks 'Won't Show Up' To Vote in Elections
Recently Ohio's Franklin County GOP Chair admitted in an email that voter ID laws are racially motivated, this week John Boehner comes out and says that those hardest hit by the recession, people of color, won't support neither the Republican, nor the Democrat presidential nominees. What's worth pointing out here is the reiteration that the GOP has no interest in garnerning votes from working and middle class people of color. Looks like the 'Southern Strategy' is still the name of the game.

Luis Moreno commented on From Funny or Die: 'Jan Brewer' Sends George Lopez a 'Self Deportation Station.' This Is His Reaction 2012-08-27 15:22:46 -0700Hey Ken. That question comes up pretty often. Morrissey and The Smiths have a unique and strong following amongst Mexican, and Central Americans in the States, especially in Southern California. I suggest a documentary called “Passions Just Like Mine” if you’re interested. Also, here’s an article from the Guardian http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2005/mar/25/popandrock

Jan Brewer To DREAMers: It's Not Your Fault. It's Your Irresponsible Parents' Fault
Last week Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed an executive order blocking undocumented youth who are granted Deferred Action from receiving state benefits. This week, when asked to defend her decision, she blamed the federal government for their failure to move on comprehensive immigration reform, among other things, but she also blamed "irresponsibile" parents who brought children to the United States undocumented or who ovestayed their visas. If by "irresponsible" she means "wanting a better future for your children," then we guess she's right.

Texas Will Grant Driver's Licenses to Deferred Action Recipients
Deferred Action may grant many public assets to undocumented youth. These assets are being left to the states to decide. One which is the most discussed is that of the privlege to drive. California, the state with the most eligible applicants to deferred action is still deciding wether or not licenses will be issued, but another state with a high number of applicants is giving the green light to DREAMers.

NPR's LAM THUY VO has designed two great infographics chronicling the last 100 years of immigration to the United States. Two main points, immigrants make up less of the population than they did at the beginning of the 20th century, and more recent immigrants are coming from different countries.

California Deciding Whether To Grant Valuable Asset To Deferred Action Recipients
Talk to DREAMers and they'll tell you that not having a driver's license is a constant obstacle. Not just because you can't drive, but it can also be tricky to travel, and even things like watching a rated R movie can get complicated.
The deferred action that the Department of Homeland Security is offering will grant work permits to millions of undocumented youth. In California, work permits and social security numbers may in turn be used to attain a diver's license, but California's Department of Motor Vehicles is yet to concretely announce whether this will apply to the recent applicants of deferred action.
