[Video] Romney Combines Charged and Neutral Terms In "Undocumented Illegals"

One of the more interesting things from last night's debate is Mitt Romney's merging of neutral and charged terms in his use of "undocumented illegals." This came in response to Lorraine Osorio, one of the townhall attendants at the Hofstra University event, who asked

Mr. Romney, what do you plan on doing with immigrants without their green cards that are currently living here as productive members of society?

Within his reponse Romney had this line

“We’re not going to round up 12 million people, undocumented illegals, and take them out of the nation,” Romney said last night. “Instead, let people make their own choice.”

Jorge Rivas, editor and blogger over at Colorlines suggests Romney may have intended to use "undocumented immigrants" but caught himself and dropped in the "illegals." It may be Romney may have used the term strategically as some on the Twittersphere suggested
