Debbie: Say No To CCA!

Why is FL Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz siding with the Corrections Corporation of America and not her constituents in Southwest Ranches? 98% of her constituents DO NOT want a new for-profit immigrant detention center!

IMMIGRANTS ARE NOT FOR SALE

We call on Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-20) to WITHDRAW her current endorsements for CCA’s project.

The Obama Administration announced a change in the priorities for detentions and deportations, to focus on real national security concerns, not on separating parents from their children or deporting DREAMers who are only seeking a better future.

It is time for ICE to stop the immigrant money making machine and tell CCA to GO AWAY from Southwest Ranches.

THIS PETITION IS NOW CLOSED - WE REACHED OUR GOAL!!! But feel free to leave your comment!

No more for-profit immigrant detention centers! Representative Wasserman-Schultz needs to side with her constituents in Southwest Ranches, not the Corrections Corporation of America!

Corrections Corporation of America has engaged in brutal and neglectful treatment of children and people who are not criminals. Don’t give them any more chances to harm people.

I admire your work and respect your judgment. As one who has visited the CCA prsions I am appalled that people should be subjected to the inhuman circumstances. 1 hr. a day in a cement enclosure. Not a twig of green to be seen. Besides other very degrading circumstances.

I’m afraid to say it, but when money talks, the citizens are up the creek w/o a paddle. It doesn’t matter the party, they all are corrupt. It’s easier to grab a tiger by the tail, than to see politicians doing the things they were elected to do. That baloney about our nation being a democracy is hogwash. We’ve never been one, not now, not ever.

the U.S. was the place all came for freedom and all were welcome. we must regain our pride in our imigrants. they are what make us great, diverse and strong. FOR PROFIT detention centers are DEAD WRONG. you should never encourage the mind set of making $$ off those who have no voice. if you are a strong supporter of civil rights stand up for ALL our people, ALL OF THEM!

CCR is a for profit prison firm interested in only one thing…using prisoners for slave labor to increase their bottom line. They must be stopped at every oppertunity and every time they think up a new sceem to take tax payer dollars and use prisoners to do work to increase their profits! We are counting on you to do everything in your power to stop CCR and eventually put them out of business!!! Prisoners are wards of the state/federal government, not slave laborers for increasing the profits of corporations.

We know you favor profit. Our legislators are pro-corporation shills. It is time to turn the tide.

Wasserman Schultz doesn’t realize that her actions will eventually effect her grand children and great grand children. She is short sited like so many who play on the stage in Washington’s political theater. She clearly does NOT care for her constituents and has therefore BROKEN her oath of office.
