Why is FL Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz siding with the Corrections Corporation of America and not her constituents in Southwest Ranches? 98% of her constituents DO NOT want a new for-profit immigrant detention center!

IMMIGRANTS ARE NOT FOR SALE

We call on Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-20) to WITHDRAW her current endorsements for CCA’s project.

The Obama Administration announced a change in the priorities for detentions and deportations, to focus on real national security concerns, not on separating parents from their children or deporting DREAMers who are only seeking a better future.

It is time for ICE to stop the immigrant money making machine and tell CCA to GO AWAY from Southwest Ranches.

    I cannot believe that Debbie is supporting another immigrant prison. In her own district no less. How can Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Bill Nelson commit more Federal Funds to another prison to lock more people up and pay a minimum bed count to CCA for another prison. Who is minding the check book for our federal funds? It’s a shame for our Leadership to simply pass more and more of our tax dollars on to this shameful private prison industry. Such a terrible misuse of THE PEOPLES MONEY!

    How is making money from detaining immigrants any different from holding sex-workers in captivity? They both make money for the holders, and neither cares at all about the people they’re hurting.
