i heard your comment on the cefalo show, in the Cuentame video, that this detention facility for sw ranches has the least impact among a variety of zoned uses. If you think that it is the major driving issue for the opposition, then you don’t get it. We already have the women’s prison here and we understand the need for some criminal facilities. This is different. This is a private detention facility. This is the worst use for this site in terms of public policy. We don’t want private companies running detention facilities at all anywhere in the country, but we especially don’t want it in our neighborhood where we will be, in fact, supporting this travesty with our local infrastructure. It is very frustrating when we elect a Democrat to represent we, the people in Congress, and she represents the crony capitalists that are taking over our govt, instead. If we wanted that, we would have elected a Republican.

A criminal justice system run for profit and not for public safety is in itself criminal.

As a registered Florida Democrat, I’m shocked and profoundly disappointed.

Stop supporting the incarceration of all these poor Americans in for-profit prisons. It is bad public policy and doesn’t put the “Debbie Wasserman Schultz” brand in a good light. You are much better than that.
