Debbie: Say No To CCA!

Why is FL Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz siding with the Corrections Corporation of America and not her constituents in Southwest Ranches? 98% of her constituents DO NOT want a new for-profit immigrant detention center!

IMMIGRANTS ARE NOT FOR SALE

We call on Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-20) to WITHDRAW her current endorsements for CCA’s project.

The Obama Administration announced a change in the priorities for detentions and deportations, to focus on real national security concerns, not on separating parents from their children or deporting DREAMers who are only seeking a better future.

It is time for ICE to stop the immigrant money making machine and tell CCA to GO AWAY from Southwest Ranches.

THIS PETITION IS NOW CLOSED - WE REACHED OUR GOAL!!! But feel free to leave your comment!

I am a life long Democrat and I am APPALLED at the private prison industry. When did imprisonment become an industry anyway? Like the more people we incarcerate for whatever reason somebody can make up, the more money some CEO can make?

This is outrageous, but somehow to be expected; our representatives, from both parties, have sold us out. But sooner or later everyone will understand, unfortunately it will be too late to save our democracy.

Understand this, you cannot fool the people forever. Think now about your actions, and change your course on this disastrous, for profit prison; return to a respectful humanitarian position, and deny this prison.

I’m not opposed to detention centers, but I’m opposed to for-profit corporate detention centers. The privatization of our prisons is very concerning. The privatization of the detention of immigrants, who have no citizenship rights with which to defend themselves, is appalling.

It’s a scam. Do not fall for it. Private prisons are money making schemes for the stock holders. States shouldn’t farm out their responsibilities.
