Debbie: Say No To CCA!

Why is FL Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz siding with the Corrections Corporation of America and not her constituents in Southwest Ranches? 98% of her constituents DO NOT want a new for-profit immigrant detention center!

IMMIGRANTS ARE NOT FOR SALE

We call on Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-20) to WITHDRAW her current endorsements for CCA’s project.

The Obama Administration announced a change in the priorities for detentions and deportations, to focus on real national security concerns, not on separating parents from their children or deporting DREAMers who are only seeking a better future.

It is time for ICE to stop the immigrant money making machine and tell CCA to GO AWAY from Southwest Ranches.

THIS PETITION IS NOW CLOSED - WE REACHED OUR GOAL!!! But feel free to leave your comment!

Can’t believe I’m even reading that Debbie Wasserman voted yes for more detention centers. What kind of message is that to Americans? Not a responsible vote in my opinion.

If we really wanted to stop immigration, you would imprison the people who break the law to hire people!

Privatizing detention/prison systems is a bad fiscal policy, bad government, bad business, and absolutely the worst in citizenship. Please listen to the real people citizens of this country. No one—citizen or illegal iummigrant—should ever be dedtained under the authority of a corporation. This is democratic justice denied.

Shame on you, Ms. Wasserman! To go against the will of your constituents, in the interest of a for-profit detention center! I lived in Florida for 14 years, and understand what the people of Dade County are telling you! Listen to them!

For-profit incarceration is surely one of the most odious industries ever dreamed up by any greed-driven parasite. Creating a demand to lock up more and more people to fatten these sadists’ bottom lines should be illegal. At the very least, you should listen to your constituents (politicians used to do that in American sometimes—long, long ago), who have stated emphatically that THEY DON’T WANT THIS.

We are insane to utilize private incarceration firms. We need to totally rethink our “justice” system, not enrich private firms by locking up ever more people.

Taking care of prisoners should never, ever be a private, for-profit enterprise. Prison work belongs to the commons and any departure from this mandate will create costly problems for our society. Please do not support CCA!
