Why is FL Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz siding with the Corrections Corporation of America and not her constituents in Southwest Ranches? 98% of her constituents DO NOT want a new for-profit immigrant detention center!

We call on Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-20) to WITHDRAW her current endorsements for CCA’s project.

The Obama Administration announced a change in the priorities for detentions and deportations, to focus on real national security concerns, not on separating parents from their children or deporting DREAMers who are only seeking a better future.

It is time for ICE to stop the immigrant money making machine and tell CCA to GO AWAY from Southwest Ranches.

    I love Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, but anything that promotes prison profiteers, such as for-profit, corporation prisons, is wrong. There is a huge prison crisis in this country. We need reforms and alternative sentencing—not wasted tax payer money on CCA.

    After 36 years as a loyal Democrat I stopped voting for national Democrats with attitudes like yours 8 years ago. A great many more people joined me 2 years ago (I guess their illusions died harder than mine did). If you want that trend to continue, just continue acting the way you have been.

This means they will aggressively pursue and chase down undocumented workers or those they suspect, and keep them imprisoned as long as possible so they can make a handsome profit, and charge it all to Uncle Sam.
