Why is FL Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz siding with the Corrections Corporation of America and not her constituents in Southwest Ranches? 98% of her constituents DO NOT want a new for-profit immigrant detention center!

IMMIGRANTS ARE NOT FOR SALE

We call on Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-20) to WITHDRAW her current endorsements for CCA’s project.

The Obama Administration announced a change in the priorities for detentions and deportations, to focus on real national security concerns, not on separating parents from their children or deporting DREAMers who are only seeking a better future.

It is time for ICE to stop the immigrant money making machine and tell CCA to GO AWAY from Southwest Ranches.

    As a former US Marshal and 38 year veteran of law enforcement I am 100% against privatized prisons or anything else that calls itself an arm of justice being privatized. It’s wasteful and insecure and controlled by lobbyists, as you know.

    I’ve always thought you were one of the few great progressives…what gives…this is a no brainer! Please stand with the people on this legislation and not the War On People crowd! If you side with the corporate powers on this I fear it will damage your reputation beyond repair and the opposition will surely use this to weaken you.

    Debbie Debbie. I love you but this is SO WRONG. CCA is a HUGE money making machine that has even involved some judges. Please say NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!! Nationally we don’t want CCA expansion and your community does not appear to want them.

    Shame, support for CCA is to be expected from corporations; the DNC and RNC are political corporations, thus they would support CCA. Voters should stop their support of these political corporations by not voting for their members. Vote third party.

    Debbie- You are a great leader and always on the right side of an issue- So why are you siding with CCA? We believe, being the wise person that you are, that you will renounce support for this profit-driven detention center. To do otherwise, would be to break faith with your constituents and all those who call ourselves Democrats.
