All people deserve to be treated with dignity and respect! I was born and raised in San Francisco and in the 1940’s and 50’s we were taught in school that when the treaty was signed with Mexico annexing California in 1848 Spanish was the official language of California for ever. We were all bilingual and there was a respect for the Californio’s who were descendants of the “original” Latino people who were living in California before the war with Mexico. If you are not a native American or a Californio then you have no right to complain about the “illegal immigrants”! I love the tee shirts and signs that show Geronimo with the Statement “Show me your papers!”

She wants to finish college and be an eye doctor. She wants to work with children to make sure they all have good vision while growing up. She is not a gang member. She is a gentle, gracious woman who gives of herself to others in need. She wants to make a positive difference in the lives of those she encounters. It was an honor to be a part of helping her get her green card and establish her citizenship here. She is an amazing woman and I am proud to know her!

Immigrant rights are human rights; when we treat humans like disposable people, all society suffer.

Ignorance is no excuse for this LEARNED RACISUM,BIGOTRY, AND HATERED!! Enough already.. We are all human beings with one god and under one god..

We are all immigrants. If you don’t want people doing the things that your forefathers did, cede the entire United States back to the Native population that lived here originally.

We need a “Department of Peace”. There needs to be an entrenched part of the bureaucracy in Washington for Peace. That and some honesty in advertising, like undoing the post war II, 1947 name change from the Dept of “War” to Dept of “Defense” may help US citizens regain the courage to face our true realities.

THIS IS A NATION OF IMMIGRANTS AND WILL ALWAYS BE A NATION OF IMMIGRANTS THE ONLY REASON ITS ILLEGAL IS TO STRIP AWAY THE BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS FROM THOSE WHO COME TO THIS COUNTRY SEEKING A BETTER LIFE. I AM AN IMMIGRANT AND I AM PROUD OF WHAT I HAVE ACHIEVED AND SEE THAT SOME OF THE SO CALLED REAL AMERICANS DO NOT CONTRIBUTE AND SACRIFICE AS MUCH AS THEY THINK THEY DO. IMMIGRANTS HAVE MADE CALIFORNIA FROM THE TOP (YAHOO,GOOGLE, FORMER GOVERNORS) TO THE BOTTOM (PROUCE PICKERS, CUSTODIAL WORKERS,ETC.).
