Why is FL Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz siding with the Corrections Corporation of America and not her constituents in Southwest Ranches? 98% of her constituents DO NOT want a new for-profit immigrant detention center!

We call on Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-20) to WITHDRAW her current endorsements for CCA’s project.

The Obama Administration announced a change in the priorities for detentions and deportations, to focus on real national security concerns, not on separating parents from their children or deporting DREAMers who are only seeking a better future.

It is time for ICE to stop the immigrant money making machine and tell CCA to GO AWAY from Southwest Ranches.

    Privatization of prisons is wrong on many levels and for any reason. It amounts to selling people or putting a price on a human being and I thought we have moved beyond that part of our history, supposedly. I would be severely disappointed if you were to back this or any measure like it. When ever I hear you speak you come off as a very sensible and fair person. Don’t let this mar your credibility and reputation.

    Debbie since I sen you on TV supporting Obama and Our Democratics Party you have been one of my Idols, and I always have senn you as an example for the rest of Democrats in Washington, Please Don’t lets us Down by siding with people we all Democrats are against of, Debbie, don’t turn your back on us with this issue, this is not the Person you always have portray to us, supporting this endorsement is a real Knife in our Back, and a Broken Hearth for many of Us.

    Congresswoman: Please do not embrace the very bizarre concept that prisons should be operated by a for-profit corporation. This violates so many basic principles it is frankly shocking that you, as DNC Chair, and a leader I highly respect, would even consider this horrible and very regressive and insidious notion. Please reconsider and listen to advicates that really have our community well-being in their mission. CCA, and others like them, are NOT in our best interests!
