Why is FL Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz siding with the Corrections Corporation of America and not her constituents in Southwest Ranches? 98% of her constituents DO NOT want a new for-profit immigrant detention center!

We call on Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-20) to WITHDRAW her current endorsements for CCA’s project.

The Obama Administration announced a change in the priorities for detentions and deportations, to focus on real national security concerns, not on separating parents from their children or deporting DREAMers who are only seeking a better future.

It is time for ICE to stop the immigrant money making machine and tell CCA to GO AWAY from Southwest Ranches.

    Rep Debbie, I so look up to you. How can you possibly support another privately-owned/run prison? Their profit motives conflict with prisoners’ civil rights – and the civil rights of their families, too.

    All the private prisons are nothing more then a corporation who main goal is to make money.The Guards are poorly trained,and that relates to poor prison conditions.

    The O Administration promised that we would focus ICE efforts only on the removal of those who commit serious crimes … this HAS NOT proven to be the case, with deportations on the increase. I am appalled that we are building such a complex at a time when undocumented are leaving this country because of their ill treatment and fewer are coming in. Building this complex, and supporting a private concern such as CCA, is awful judgment. As a committed Democrat and a strong past supporter of the President, I am looking for him and his administration to do more for comprehensive immigration reform … which this certainly is not!!! … Avi Poster
