Debbie: Say No To CCA!

Why is FL Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz siding with the Corrections Corporation of America and not her constituents in Southwest Ranches? 98% of her constituents DO NOT want a new for-profit immigrant detention center!

IMMIGRANTS ARE NOT FOR SALE

We call on Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-20) to WITHDRAW her current endorsements for CCA’s project.

The Obama Administration announced a change in the priorities for detentions and deportations, to focus on real national security concerns, not on separating parents from their children or deporting DREAMers who are only seeking a better future.

It is time for ICE to stop the immigrant money making machine and tell CCA to GO AWAY from Southwest Ranches.

THIS PETITION IS NOW CLOSED - WE REACHED OUR GOAL!!! But feel free to leave your comment!

And you wonder why I no longer support the Democratic Party and two-party system? Why I have removed myself from your email lists asking for donations for Democratic candidates running for office? Well, here’s yet one more reason why I will no longer vote for your party.

Private prisons are less safe that those administered by governmental agencies. Whitnessn the breakout of two maximum security prisoners from Wickenburg, AZ last year. Also, the detention of immigrants is promoted by the private prisons, because their compensation depends on “enrollment.”

Private detention centers are wrong, just like slavery is wrong. Exploiting captive individuals for profit is bad policy.

Some things should never be privatized and jails and prisons are one of them.

I recommend Debbie Schultz visit current MONEY-MAKING facilities managed by Corrections Corporation of America and see how she would like to stay there for a few weeks. Its easy to get put into the facility, but very difficult to get out. Many of the people are detained for a long time and their family has no idea what happened to them.

Debbie Schultz, I am disapointed you would consider endorsing this. Please say “NO” to CCA.
