Why is FL Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz siding with the Corrections Corporation of America and not her constituents in Southwest Ranches? 98% of her constituents DO NOT want a new for-profit immigrant detention center!

We call on Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-20) to WITHDRAW her current endorsements for CCA’s project.

The Obama Administration announced a change in the priorities for detentions and deportations, to focus on real national security concerns, not on separating parents from their children or deporting DREAMers who are only seeking a better future.

It is time for ICE to stop the immigrant money making machine and tell CCA to GO AWAY from Southwest Ranches.

    I am opposed to any new prisons, especially for profit prisons. We need to deal with too many people in jail, not build more, unless they are for corrupt politicians.

    Justice with dignity! Let the people who live there decide on whether a privatized detention center is of value to their community or not.

    We (Washington County Democrats and Demcratic Party of Oregon oppose all private for-profit prisons and detention systems. Prisons are an extension if the rule of law and MUST be kept in the public hands, regardless how inconvenient. PIVATE INVOLVEMENT MUST BE LIMITED TO CONTRACT SPECIFIC SERVICES such as construction, food supply, and etc. Operations must be public and transparent.

    I find it deplorable that you side with the well financed minority on this issue. The fact that you’re a politician doesn’t demand that you behave like the majority of them do. Grow a pair and do whats right and be a shining example of what a politician is SUPPOSED to do.
