Debbie: Say No To CCA!

Why is FL Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz siding with the Corrections Corporation of America and not her constituents in Southwest Ranches? 98% of her constituents DO NOT want a new for-profit immigrant detention center!

IMMIGRANTS ARE NOT FOR SALE

We call on Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-20) to WITHDRAW her current endorsements for CCA’s project.

The Obama Administration announced a change in the priorities for detentions and deportations, to focus on real national security concerns, not on separating parents from their children or deporting DREAMers who are only seeking a better future.

It is time for ICE to stop the immigrant money making machine and tell CCA to GO AWAY from Southwest Ranches.

THIS PETITION IS NOW CLOSED - WE REACHED OUR GOAL!!! But feel free to leave your comment!

    Congresswomen,

Your actions in this case are one great example of why the voters are so disaffected. It is obvious that the for profit prison industry, especially in Florida, is a powerful lobby, spending great sums to “convince” politicians that they should support that indusrty. But the citizens, who you are supposed to be representing, do not support that industry. Your reputation is that of a more responsible legislater who is not bought by those with the wherwithal. And in your position as chair of the DNC your actions represent more than they would if you were just another political hack from Florida. Please do the right thing and change your position to better reflect your voters rather than the contributors.

    Sincerely,

    Dan Banks

for profit prisons represent and cause a multitude of evils: to make money they need more and more prisoners and to keep them longer, they will sway public opinion to jail more and more people, even now we imprison more of our citizens tan any other nation including China and Iran. These are just some of the most obvious, for profit, privatized prisons are bad for our country.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz lost my vote a long time ago. She is part of the corporate/Israeli lobby. She has consistently voted and defended Obama’s signing away of our civil liberties with his bills estalishing a police statwe. How much money have private prisons put into this woman’s campaign coffers. It’s time for her to be voted out of office. Period.
