Privatizing prisons in the name of profits — whether it’s’ profits for investors or profits for the lawmakers — is immoral. I’m shocked that Representative Wasserman Schultz would support this. My opinion of her has dropped.

Good luck with the next election, I think you’re going to need it.

Profit-making prisons are bad both for the economy and for our social fabric. We oppose that industry completely.

This is one of the many reasons why we can’t be, contrary to popular belief, a democracy. Special interests always trump the Constitution, law and order, Christianity and all for the almighty dollar. That said, you expect this type of shenanigans from republicans, tea partiers, but from the party that is supposed to defend the citizens of this nation has to amount to tyranny of the greedy, a slap on the face of every American. It’s obvious that democrats have decided to join the other two groups and divide the spoils between them, while America burns. Shame on you, shame on her voters that allow this to happen.

I thought you were better than this. As a long-time immigrant advocate, I deplore the privatization of immigrant detention centers and the abuses they engender. Don’t support this prison! When Democrats act like Republicans, where do we go?

These institutions are a blatant waste of tax dollars not to mention inhumane.

We must stop funding private prisons here, for profit. We are becoming a profiteering gulag nation and it’s shameful and purely undemocratic.

No more prisons for profit.

Money, money, money, that’s the only thing that matters. People are merely the means of extraction. Money buys influence, it always has.

Cut em all down, fish it all out, pave it all over and smog it all up, all in the name of free enterprise and the fine tuning of the fair market

place.
