Why is FL Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz siding with the Corrections Corporation of America and not her constituents in Southwest Ranches? 98% of her constituents DO NOT want a new for-profit immigrant detention center!

We call on Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-20) to WITHDRAW her current endorsements for CCA’s project.

The Obama Administration announced a change in the priorities for detentions and deportations, to focus on real national security concerns, not on separating parents from their children or deporting DREAMers who are only seeking a better future.

It is time for ICE to stop the immigrant money making machine and tell CCA to GO AWAY from Southwest Ranches.

    Arrests are going up while the crime rate is dropping. The need for more prisons is now a matter of profit, not justice. Please do not side with CCA. The situation in AZ demonstrated that the governor stood to profit from incarceration. Do not fall into that trap. Once elected elected officials must represent the population as a whole, not just any corporate entity with lobbyists who serve it, regardless of campaign contributions or any other considerations. It is not about dancing with the one who brought you but doing the right thing by all the citizens.

    This is very disappointing, Debbie Wasserman Shultz. Please restore my admiration and say NO to CCA. We don’t need privatized services anywhere, and certainly not in this instance. We need trained professionals with appropriate supervision, etc. Don’t give into the right-wing of this country. PLEASE!

    I can’t understand why you Democrats continue to insist on continually and habitually shooting yourselves in the foot and snatching defeat from the jaws of victory and then complaining why you lost the last election. This present CCA program for example is nothing more then a Republican’s wet dream so why in heavens name are you playing like a fish being caught on an experts line and serving this up to them on a silver platter, as it benefits no one except multimillionaires and multibillionaires like the Koch brothers, the Walton family and other like minded wealthy well off, most certainly NOT your constituency you represent, usually very well, but NOT with this rotten egg! I do not live in Fla nor am I a constituent of yours, but PLEASE FOR THE GOOD OF THE COUNTRY AND YOUR CONSTITUENTS, VOTE AGAINST THIS TURKEY! They tried it in Arizona and it brought nothing but trouble and problems and big pay-offs to the wrong kind of people, it’s a wonder Sen Jim DeMint hasn’t tried it yet in SC.

    Debbie, detention centers are for actual criminals, not folks seeking a better life. Put criminals in jail & support a way to solve the border problem
