Why is FL Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz siding with the Corrections Corporation of America and not her constituents in Southwest Ranches? 98% of her constituents DO NOT want a new for-profit immigrant detention center!

IMMIGRANTS ARE NOT FOR SALE

We call on Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-20) to WITHDRAW her current endorsements for CCA’s project.

The Obama Administration announced a change in the priorities for detentions and deportations, to focus on real national security concerns, not on separating parents from their children or deporting DREAMers who are only seeking a better future.

It is time for ICE to stop the immigrant money making machine and tell CCA to GO AWAY from Southwest Ranches.

    Don’t tell people you are a progressive Democrat and then align yourself with that Godawful Corrections Corporation of America. A true progressive would not want to privatize our prison systems for the profits of the wealthy while driving down prison guard wages and benefits and placing the guards in peril while placing prisoners in inhumane conditions.

    Private prisons cost much more than local governments when dealing with criminals. The staff are under payed and, much of the time, under trained.

    Private prisons are a scourge on modern society. They are intolerable. We have created a global economy and governments always manage economies. This means that nation-states are now a farce and national borders deserve no respect. Either allow free migration or shut down trade, one without the other is unacceptable.
