Debbie: Say No To CCA!

Why is FL Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz siding with the Corrections Corporation of America and not her constituents in Southwest Ranches? 98% of her constituents DO NOT want a new for-profit immigrant detention center!

IMMIGRANTS ARE NOT FOR SALE

We call on Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-20) to WITHDRAW her current endorsements for CCA’s project.

The Obama Administration announced a change in the priorities for detentions and deportations, to focus on real national security concerns, not on separating parents from their children or deporting DREAMers who are only seeking a better future.

It is time for ICE to stop the immigrant money making machine and tell CCA to GO AWAY from Southwest Ranches.

THIS PETITION IS NOW CLOSED - WE REACHED OUR GOAL!!! But feel free to leave your comment!

The records prove that for-profit prisons are not in the best interests of the people. When money is the goal, right actions are recklessly abandoned. Any public servant who back privatizing public services is immediately suspect.

It is discouraging for me to see you do this! As a many-decades long active Democrat, now disabled at 84, it distresses me to see some in the party now siding with the powerful moneybags instead of with the people. As the current head of the DNC, you should be setting an example — on this and on other issues too!

For-profit prisons are by their nature inhumane. To make money from imposition of the necessary misery on immigration violators is anathema to 98% of your constituents. Please, side with them, not the CCA.

I find it appalling how many of our government functions are contracted out and, as a result, how much influence private contraters have over out national policy.
