Debbie: Say No To CCA!

Why is FL Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz siding with the Corrections Corporation of America and not her constituents in Southwest Ranches? 98% of her constituents DO NOT want a new for-profit immigrant detention center!

IMMIGRANTS ARE NOT FOR SALE

We call on Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-20) to WITHDRAW her current endorsements for CCA’s project.

The Obama Administration announced a change in the priorities for detentions and deportations, to focus on real national security concerns, not on separating parents from their children or deporting DREAMers who are only seeking a better future.

It is time for ICE to stop the immigrant money making machine and tell CCA to GO AWAY from Southwest Ranches.

Privatizing our prison system, incentivizing incarceration for profit?! What’s next? It’s out sourcing our public commons, our ability to oversee and demand good policy. It removes us from responsibility an makes people subject to a profit GAME … we become more like “PANEM” (the land of “Bread & Circuses” in the “Hunger Games” ~ where people just become pawns, spectators, and victims. Debbie, this isn’t good policy; it’s further capitulation ~ besides being human cruelty! Remove your support.

Congresswoman Schultz, you have been the people’s hero for so long. Please say no to CCA. Privatizing our prisons makes our citizens vulnerable to being thrown into prison and kept there for PROFIT! This is unnacceptable.

Private prisons are such a bad idea at every level I cannot believe you would agree with them on anything.

What do you want, to privatize the whole government? It’s already close as we see from your position on this. Your position doesn’t reflect the will of the people, but the will of the corporations.

The use of private prisons is an affront to all union members everywhere when they get contracts the state or federal prison with a union are shutdown. The guards are then rehired are less pay and no benefits, pension or medical and the private prison will not take violent or mentally unstable prisoners.
