Debbie: Say No To CCA!

Why is FL Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz siding with the Corrections Corporation of America and not her constituents in Southwest Ranches? 98% of her constituents DO NOT want a new for-profit immigrant detention center!

IMMIGRANTS ARE NOT FOR SALE

We call on Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-20) to WITHDRAW her current endorsements for CCA’s project.

The Obama Administration announced a change in the priorities for detentions and deportations, to focus on real national security concerns, not on separating parents from their children or deporting DREAMers who are only seeking a better future.

It is time for ICE to stop the immigrant money making machine and tell CCA to GO AWAY from Southwest Ranches.

THIS PETITION IS NOW CLOSED - WE REACHED OUR GOAL!!! But feel free to leave your comment!

    Honorable Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz:

I’m not very sure about the activities, policy & goal of CCA. CCA is more about making money & didn’t help much in controlling the real problems about criminals. In most case they arrested hardworking immigrant workers and detained them in prison separating from their families. You may like to consider a second look before supporting CCA because I support most of your initiatives.

    With kind regards,

This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to corporations profiting off what should be government run institutions. Just look at what happened in Texas when they privatized their prison systems- costs skyrocketed!! Staff safety was comprimized and inmate treatment was deplorable!!

It’s this sort of behavior by the DNC and Democrats in Congress that has driven so many of us from the party. Many of us haven’t changed our registration, but are no longer voting for Democrats any more than we would vote for Republicans. Thank you, Debbie, for showing us, again, your true colors.

From someone whom I once respected and liked, you have fallen to the depths of depravity, and have become nothing more than a political whore, who has sold your soul to the prison industrial complex….(I should have known when you turned so quickly on Anthony Wiener)

Private prisons will never work simply because they won’t incarcerate the rounded-up, Corporate CEO,s.

Prison services are cheaper run by the state. For CCA the focus is on profit, not not safety, care or rehab.

Listen to your constituents & tell CCA to go away from Southwest Ranches. Withdraw your endorsement & let local & state people handle this center.
