Why is FL Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz siding with the Corrections Corporation of America and not her constituents in Southwest Ranches? 98% of her constituents DO NOT want a new for-profit immigrant detention center!

IMMIGRANTS ARE NOT FOR SALE

We call on Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-20) to WITHDRAW her current endorsements for CCA’s project.

The Obama Administration announced a change in the priorities for detentions and deportations, to focus on real national security concerns, not on separating parents from their children or deporting DREAMers who are only seeking a better future.

It is time for ICE to stop the immigrant money making machine and tell CCA to GO AWAY from Southwest Ranches.

    I have a friend that was a medical director for CCA in Az. She quit

    because they would not furnish proper equipment and medicines.

    The only way to make a profit on a prison is to treat the inmates

    horribly!!

    We have ALEC & the conservative, un-restrained capitalists to thank for encouraging longer sentences and more private prisons. I respect Rep. Wasserman-Schultz and have trouble believing she thinks this detention center should be in private hands.

    Congresswoman Schultz, With the checkered history and influence pedaling of CCA, let me advise you to walk away and stick with the progressives who say, do not privatize our public services and commons. We are not a profit center we are citizens and you of all people should be aware of the damage your cozying up to these sorts of companies does to the nation and the politics of the Democratic Party. The Democrats have a narrow window to show they are with the 99% which is their true base. Remember that and act accordingly or the Democrats will cease to be relevant in the struggle to take back the country from the rule by corporations.
