Debbie: Say No To CCA!

Why is FL Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz siding with the Corrections Corporation of America and not her constituents in Southwest Ranches? 98% of her constituents DO NOT want a new for-profit immigrant detention center!

IMMIGRANTS ARE NOT FOR SALE

We call on Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-20) to WITHDRAW her current endorsements for CCA’s project.

The Obama Administration announced a change in the priorities for detentions and deportations, to focus on real national security concerns, not on separating parents from their children or deporting DREAMers who are only seeking a better future.

It is time for ICE to stop the immigrant money making machine and tell CCA to GO AWAY from Southwest Ranches.

THIS PETITION IS NOW CLOSED - WE REACHED OUR GOAL!!! But feel free to leave your comment!

I’m not surprised at her endorsement of the CCA’s projects. Like most members of the DNC she cares less about “we, the people” and more about her own political future and that of the Democratic leadership who appear to have lost their way over the last 30 to 40 years.

For-profit prisons are a growing dysfunction in this country. What product are they promoting? Convicts? Detention? Do they use the same stats as the hotel/motel industry, and do they focus on ways to eliminate vacancies? This is very disturbing. It must not be sustained by our representatives.

Private prisons, and their absurd profits, drive a cruel and unjust system. I can’t believe ANY democrat would support them. have you had a real look at what they are all about? there is no accountability and every reason to abuse detention, and lengthen it. These prisons are an outrage wherever they exist!

This is amazing. I feel like I"m being sold out. We should NEVER outsource prisons or detention facilities. We have too high incarcerations rates. Privatizing means laws will be created to put more people in jail. Please change your position.

Dear Representative Wasserman-Shultz, please do not privatize another industry that need not be profitized. Education, healthcare, law enforcement and national security should never be privatized. These private profiteers do not have the best interest of ours (mine and yours) a better society.
