This is a bad idea from every standpoint.

Stand with your constituents!

As a life-long Democrat and recent former member of the Nassau County (NY) Democratic Party Executive Committee, it makes me hessitant to contribute to, and support, DNC candidates when their leader is so obviously in bed with private prisons and their profits from the missery of others. Prisons should be run by the State or Feds (as appropriate for the court in which they prisoners were tried and the laws that they were convicted of breaking). Supporting privatization of prisons is not the kind of democracy I worked so hard to achieve. (When I started in Nassau County we were a Republican stronghold. Now we control North Hempstead and until two years ago, the County as well). Please do not set such a bad example for our Party. We need the 99% and your actions can only turn them away.

Debbie- do not build this prison! First of all we need immigration reform and secondly, the humane treatment of immigrants will not be facilitated by this prison and the democrats need the Hispanic vote. This would be a nail in the democrats coffin like the other nails of the harsh deportation policies of the Obama administration.

I see you often as a spokesperson for Democrats, and usually agree with what you say. But actions speak louder than words, and you show yourself here to be just another heartless Democratic hypocrite, selling out for the almighty campaign contribution, this time being dangled by CCA.
